::Delia Derbyshire Day!:: 1/12/13 Manchester, England

An event celebrating the life and work of Delia Derbyshire, the electronic music pioneer and mastermind behind the terrific sounds of the original Dr. Who theme music... only THE BEST TV THEME MUSIC in the history of EVER!

One half of the mighty OCTOBUSE duo is attending this remarkable event, which we both hope will become an annual affair! I'm delighted to report that one of the lovely DJ's will be spinning our some of our music, among other tracks from other artists who joyous admit to being influenced by the sweet, spooky, and sci-fi sounds of Ms. Derbyshire.

The University of Manchester is home to her archives (hence, the event's location). The world's experts on this amazing trailblazing woman are in attendance: panel discussions, films, music galore. Sorry that we're posting this late, but what they hey, if you didn't know about it before, YOU DO NOW, and so can plan on 1) seeking her music if you are not already familiar with it and 2) attend in years to come and 3) Spread the good word!

Here are some links to Delia's work, and Delia Derbyshire Day. Have a look/see/listen, and enjoy!!
